Learn About Diabetes

Diabetes Island Health

Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects a growing number of North Americans. It is a health condition in which the body doesn’t make enough insulin, or cannot properly use the insulin it makes.

This results in a higher than normal blood sugar. Diabetes can be managed with healthy eating, physical activity, medication and stress management.
