Our specially trained professional team of nurses and gynecologists will provide a consultation, diagnostic testing and treatments which may include:

  • pre-procedure consultation
  • HPV education
  • surveillance of pre existing conditions
  • biopsies
  • LEEP procedure
  • post-procedure debrief

How to Get Referral

The colposcopy booking office accepts referrals from General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Naturopaths, Midwives, and Gynecologists.

Your referring healthcare provider will then be contacted by the clinic with a date and time for your procedure with a Gynecologist.

Preparing for Your Visit

We ask that you please eat breakfast before your clinic visit.

If you require extra assistance to ambulate, change clothes and/or for toileting, please ensure that a caregiver accompanies you to your visit.

If you are driving, please allow for extra time as parking space is limited.

If a translator is needed, bringing a family member or a friend to translate is encouraged. Island Health will provide translation services over the phone if required.

All appointment changes and/or cancellations are arranged through the referring physician’s office.

If you need to cancel, please contact your referring physician’s office at least 1 week before your scheduled procedure at the clinic.

Please contact the referring physician’s office or your gynecologist for any questions or concerns regarding the procedure.

After Your Visit

You will receive an individualized procedure handout, specific to your colposcopy procedure.

For the results and recommendations from this clinics visit, please make an appointment to see your referring doctor within 6-8 weeks’ time.
